The interiors are guided by YúYù, the Chinese ideal of happiness, fulfillment, prosperity, and harmony. BAMO translated this philosophy into design qualities: connection to nature, tranquility, delight, community, and belonging.
This vision is expressed in ways both subtle and bold. The Community Center greets visitors beneath a sculptural “tree” of wood ribs and a luminous hospitality bar, while the Clubhouse glows at night like a lantern at the valley’s center. Dining venues, from the garden-inspired All-Day Dining to the refined Chinese Restaurant, balance comfort with celebration. Recreation loops, art studios, and a spa reinforce wellness, while moments of play and discovery enrich daily life.
Materiality reflects contrasts central to Chinese tradition: raw and refined, robust and delicate, formal and casual. By weaving these layers together, BAMO created a community that feels cohesive, uplifting, and uniquely of Xi’an — a living expression of YúYù.
A Village for All Generations
International 99 is more than a housing development; it is a village designed to nurture body, mind, and spirit. Amenity spaces foster community across generations, from fitness studios, walking loops, and yoga rooms to arts workshops, performance venues, and themed lounges. Dining venues range from casual cafés to elegant restaurants, ensuring choice and variety. Outdoor gardens and terraces extend living spaces into nature, encouraging activity and rest in equal measure.
Sustainability is woven throughout, with energy-efficient systems, locally sourced materials, and electric shuttle buses that support mobility and aging in place. By merging wellness, sustainability, and hospitality-level design, International 99 creates a framework where residents feel connected, engaged, and supported at every stage of life.
Future-Proofed, Present-Focused Homes
Residences are completely custom designed to support independence while embracing beauty and comfort. By tailoring every piece of furniture, BAMO fine-tuned dimensions for accessibility, scale, and ease of use — an ideal fit for senior residents. This control extended to finishes, materials, and colors, creating a tranquil, coordinated atmosphere throughout each unit.
Universal design principles are seamlessly integrated, from barrier-free layouts and wheelchair-friendly clearances to supportive details like grab bars and shower benches. Natural daylight, warm tones, and soft finishes enhance comfort and safety, particularly for aging eyes. Every unit opens to a balcony or terrace, strengthening the connection to gardens and landscape views. Two palettes — Forest and Sky — echo Xi’an’s natural icons and bring variety across the community. These homes achieve casual elegance through natural wood cabinetry, refined hardware, and flexible spaces that balance function with delight.
The result is housing that adapts gracefully to evolving needs while maintaining dignity and belonging.
