Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences, Miami

Towering 1,049 feet above Biscayne Bay, Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences, Miami redefines the city’s skyline with sculptural architecture and visionary interiors. As the tallest residential building south of Manhattan, this landmark is more than an architectural feat — it’s a living experience elevated into the clouds. Nine spiraling cubes appear to levitate, wrapped in a glass skin that reflects the sea, sky, and city below, forming a vertical sculpture of light. Inside, the interiors echo the tower’s ambition, creating a sanctuary above it all.

“The groundbreaking of Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences Miami signifies much more than the property’s vertical construction… As Miami’s first supertall tower and Waldorf Astoria’s first entry into the city, this achievement further designates Miami as a global destination and sets a new benchmark for luxury real estate paired with superior hospitality.” Kevin Maloney PMG, President & CEO

Peacock Alley & Foucault Pendulum

Every Waldorf Astoria features a clock in Peacock Alley, symbolizing tradition and time. For the Miami Hotel & Residences, BAMO redefined this hallmark with a bold, one-of-a-kind design: a three-story Foucault pendulum.

Unlike any clock in the brand’s portfolio, it measures time through physics, its arc revealing both the passage of hours and the rotation of the earth. Suspended from the ceiling of the 21st-floor restaurant and descending into the double-height lounge, the pendulum becomes a sculptural centerpiece — visible from multiple levels and perspectives. Within the glass-walled conservatory of Peacock Alley, it is both a work of science and art, connecting guests to the timeless heritage of Waldorf Astoria while introducing an extraordinary innovation found only in Miami.

From the start, BAMO’s design was guided by the concept of being suspended in the sky and channeling the tower’s kinetic architecture into a layered, immersive experience. The building’s reflective skin, which captures the shifting Miami light, became a reference point for the interior palette: dawn pinks, lavender greys, inky blues, and sun-washed golds.

Throughout the tower, materials and details mirror the elegance of the Waldorf Astoria legacy while embracing Miami’s spirit of innovation.
