“Trinity IV demanded precision at every turn, from the monumental marble installations to the integration of large-scale art pieces. Our collaboration with BAMO ensured that craftsmanship and design intent were carried through seamlessly, delivering a lobby that is as structurally sound as it is visually striking.” Swinerton Builders

Sculptural Statements

Anchored by a monumental Bianco Statuario marble wall and a sculptural Nero Marquina marble desk, the lobby makes an immediate impression of strength and refinement.

A carved white oak feature by French artist Etienne Moyat wraps upward from fireplace to ceiling, forming a dramatic canopy that frames the lounge as a “room within a room.” Art commissions, including a suspended glass installation by Nikolas Weinstein and sculptures by Lawrence Argent, add depth, storytelling, and connection to San Francisco’s cultural fabric.

The design vision centered on creating a lobby that serves as both a gateway and a homecoming. Visible from the street and connected to a new public plaza and Whole Foods, the space acts as a civic marker while maintaining intimacy for residents. Strong architectural lines are softened by plush furnishings, residentially scaled details, and a layered material palette of marble, oak, and glass.

Throughout, art and craft carry equal weight to architecture. Local and international commissions animate the interiors, while subtle design gestures such as diagonal ceiling lights referencing the Market Street grid tie the project to its context.

By merging dynamic form, tactile warmth, and cultural resonance, the lobby at Trinity Place sets a new standard for high-end residential living in San Francisco: timeless, innovative, and deeply connected to its city.

“By layering art, texture, and materiality, the space becomes more than an entry, rather a place that welcomes and feels distinctly San Francisco. We wanted the lobby to feel both monumental and intimate; bold architectural gestures meet the warmth of crafted details.” Michael Booth BAMO, Principal
