Kips Bay Show House | Palm Beach 2026

The spaces unfold as a suspended moment, where gravity loosens and time feels gently distorted. Inspired by surrealist themes and the poetic fluidity of modern art, the sunroom and pool deck become an immersive environment — at once serene and unexpected. Here, luxury is experienced as atmosphere rather than ornament, inviting visitors into a world shaped by illusion, movement, and quiet wonder.

Architectural Mirage

Conceived as an elegant paradox, the Sunroom and Pool Deck balances meticulous composition with intentional unpredictability.

The undulating slatted ceiling — the conceptual starting point for the room — appears to float overhead, dissolving into the walls and forming an architectural mirage that subtly transforms throughout the day. Underfoot, a bold, large-scale mixed-stone geometric floor, inspired by Gio Ponti, introduces a grounding counterpoint. Walls draped in Belgian linen, woven with subtle metallic threads, a nod to the wave pattern of the slatted ceiling, that shifts with light and movement, softening the room’s hard surfaces while reinforcing its immersive quality.

“We wanted the space to feel grounded yet immersive — architectural surrealism expressed through material, scale, and movement. The floor, walls, and ceiling form the all-important envelope of the space.
Each element is strong on its own, but together they make the room powerful.”

Art and furnishings extend the room’s surreal logic. Organic silhouettes and sculptural forms hover between the familiar and the imagined, encouraging slow discovery and layered interpretation. Soft shadows stretch across surfaces, while materials appear to bend, fold, and blur — never fully settling.

Together, the ceiling, floor, and draped walls form a cohesive architectural envelope, developed in close collaboration with fabricators to transform vision into reality. The sunroom and pool deck become a curated landscape of tactile richness, where interior and exterior dissolve into one continuous experience.

The result is a sanctuary of stillness and intrigue — an environment where perception is gently challenged, and modern luxury is felt as an immersive, lived condition rather than a fleeting visual gesture.
