GV

In San Francisco’s most iconic landmark, BAMO designed a bold new workplace for GV that embodies the brand’s forward-thinking ethos. Set within the Ferry Building’s original grand entry hall, the venture capital office blends the energy of its historic setting with a sculptural, hospitality-driven approach to design. As GV moved off the Google campus, this new headquarters became a statement of identity — expressive, engaging, and distinctively their own.

Designing at
an Angle

GV’s iconic slash inspired a visual and spatial design direction. Themes of movement and transformation shape the experience.

The reception unfolds into a luminous lounge animated by a sculptural fireplace and gallery-like art moments, including a lenticular wall that traces GV’s evolving milestones and partnerships. Circulation paths are deliberately choreographed, guiding guests from hospitality-forward zones into focused workspaces — encouraging flow, creativity, and connection.

The goal was to create a workspace that felt both sophisticated and purposeful — an environment that reflects GV’s bold, forward-thinking ethos. The slash from the GV logo served as a conceptual throughline, informing the space’s geometry and materiality. From the sculptural stone reception desk to angular red leather panels, these confident gestures express the brand’s identity with clarity and edge.

“GV’s identity is bold, direct, and distinctly future-focused. Our aim was to translate that confidence into spatial form — through strong lines, expressive materials, and moments of discovery that reflect the brand’s energy and point of view.” Anne Wilkinson Principal, BAMO
