Our charge: create a 5-star luxury hotel atop Sand Hill Road, just minutes from Stanford University and the nation’s foremost equity firms. The result: Rosewood Sand Hill has become the social epicenter of the Peninsula. Feeling more like a stylish residence than a suburban hotel, it appeals to Silicon Valley professionals, business travelers, well-heeled vacationers, and chic locals.
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape, the interiors of the hotel are classic Northern California. The design team mixed European elegance and tradition with casual, indoor/outdoor verve to create a comfortable and stylish retreat. Soothing neutral hues are complemented by rich wood tones of walnut, cherry, and cedar, which are integrated into architectural details and selected furniture pieces. Throughout the hotel are contemporary works by several accomplished artists including Rex Ray, Nathan Oliveira, and Jim Isermann.
We designed the reception, library lounge, bar, Michelin-starred Madera restaurant, banquet facilities, spa, guestrooms, and suites.
